HOUSES LET IN LODGINGS.
Report of the Medical Officer upon the following letter.
LONDON COUNTY COUNCIL.
Spring Gardens,
8th November, 1889.
Sir,
I am directed by the Sanitary and Special Purposes
Committee of the Council to ask your Board to be so good
as to inform the Committee whether or not bye-laws or
regulations under Section 35 of the Sanitary Act, 1866, and
Section 47 of the Sanitary Law Amendment Act, 1874, have
been adopted in your district, and are at present enforced
and to request that your Board will also express any
opinion they may have formed as to the value or otherwise
of such bye-laws or regulations. I am also to ask your
Board to be good enough to furnish for the information of
the Committee a copy of any such bye-laws or regulations,
and any information as to the results obtained by their
enforcement, including the number of tenement houses
registered under their provisions, the number of notices
served, and the number of convictions obtained for breach
of such bye-laws or regulations.
