LOCAL IMPROVEMENTS.
Camberwell Road, east side, extending northward from
near Green's row. As per last year's Report, the Vestry had
plans prepared by your Surveyor for widening this important
thoroughfare in completion of the work already executed by
the Metropolitan Board, and petitioned the Board to
carry out the same, but your Committee regret to report the
reply that the Board were not prepared to act upon the
suggestions of the Vestry.
Queen's Road, from near Meeting-house-lane to Montpelier
road. This much needed improvement also shared
the same fate as Camberwell road, the Metropolitan Board
not complying with the petition of the Vestry.
Goldsmith Road, north side, from Furley street to
Marmont road. A small widening of this thoroughfare has been
effected here and the footway paved and kerbed by the Owners.
Forest Hill Road, east side, from opposite Dunstans
road to Mundania road. The freeholders—Messrs. Stevens—
of the estate fronting the road at this part, having offered to
give up a large strip of land for the purpose of widening the
same, on condition that the Vestry made up and paved the
