VESTRY CLERK'S REPORT.
Your Vestry Clerk begs to submit the following Report upon
some of the chief questions which have been under the consideration
of the Vestrv during the past year :—

ANNUAL ACCOUNTS.
The Accounts of the Vestry for the year ending the 25th
day of March, 1887, will be found at pages 165 to 244 of this
Report. They have been examined by the Auditors elected by
the Vestry under the provisions of the Metropolis Local
Management Acts, and the certificate of the result of their
examination will be found on page 218.
From the Abstracts and Summaries of Accounts, it appears
that the expenditure of the Metropolitan Board of Works and
the School Board for London, together, exceed more than onethird
of the total amount raised by the Vestry, and it must not
be forgotten that over the items of expenditure of these two
authorities this Vestry has no control.
The Precept of the Metropolitan Board of Works for the
year 1886-7 was £28,562, but it has increased by £2,727, and
for the year ending the 25th day of March, 1888, it is no less
than £31,290.
The Precept of the School Board for London for the year
ending the 25th day of March, 1887, was £86,347, and the
