and comparatively little disinfection or destruction of bedding,
clothing, &c. Almost the only articles destroyed,
indeed, were in the case of the outbreak of Typhus in
Harling street, where, in order to arrest the progress of the
disease, it was thought advisable to destroy all furniture,
&c., liable to retain infection, and this was done at a cost to
the Vestry of £10.
