In all approved cases, upon the works being
carried out, supervision has been given thereto by
the Vestry Officers.
METROPOLITAN STREET IMPROVEMENTS.
Camberwell Road.
Church Street.
High Street, Peckham, and
Queen's Road.
Record can now be made of the completion of
the long anticipated scheme of widening the main
Roads. To the energy and determination of the
member at the Metropolitan Board of Works,
E. Dresser Rogers, Esq., this has been mainly due,
and also the street widths originally intended as
50-ft. have been increased to 60-ft. The above gives
a Road of grand dimensions, and when the new
Buildings are completed, Camberwell will possess on
its western boundary a main road of about three
miles in length, in appearance equal to any in South
London.
