well, and of the entire Parish, as they were severally
enumerated at the Censuses of 1851, 1861, 1871,
and 1881. It shows with what rapid strides the
houses and the population have increased in number
during the thirty years to which the table relates;
that within this time the population has more than
trebled itself, and that the houses have increased in
almost equal proportion; and that this marvellous
growth (taking the whole period into consideration)
has been shared in pretty equally by all the districts
of the Parish. The rate of increase, however, has
been far from uniform for the whole Parish between
the different Censuses; and as regards the districts,
such variations have been very considerable.
