We would desire to draw the attention of the
Vestry to the recommendations made by the
Auditors in past years (1877 and 1878) with respect
to the advisability of adopting some better
arrangement with regard to receipts and counterfoils
in the Collectors' books, in cases where
portions only of the Rates demanded have been
paid.
We consider that a better plan than that now
in use might be adopted which would facilitate
the labour of the Auditors, and be more generally
satisfactory. And we would strongly urge this
question upon the attention of the Vestry, with
the view to their adopting some practical mode
of giving effect to it.
THOMAS TAYLOR, Colonel,
Chairman.
W. P. ANDREWS,
ROBERT VINCENT,
F. A. RICHES, WILLIAM YOUNG,
Auditors of the Parish of St. Giles, Camberwell.
