SLOPPING, WATERING, &c.
The work of this department continues to be
executed by means of the Vestry Plant, Horses,
&c., the results are in every way satisfactory, both
as to efficiency and economy, and their results
are especially due to the fact that the Vestry having
the entire system under its control is not subject to
the fluctuations, expedients and inconveniences
suffered under the former system of contracting.

During the past year a very serious epidemic
took place in the metropolis which visited the
stud of horses of Railway Companies, Carriers,
Vestries, &c., most seriously, but your Committee
has the satisfaction to report that during such
epidemic of Horse Sickness, out of a total of 85
