tbe South Metropolitan Gas Cumpany, the tf United
Company" have notified that from and after Midsummer
next, the charge for Lighting and maintaining
Lamps in the Phoenix" District will bo tho same as
in the present " South Metropolitan" District.
Crystal Palace Gas Company
£4 14s. per annum per Lamp.
Cost of Providing and erecting Columns, £3 10s. each.
* Mem.—This price is in some cases increased where
tho spaces between the Lumps are beyond the usual
limits.
METROPOLITAN STREET IMPROVEMENTS.
The negociations for the purchase of the property
in the lines of these improvements are being carried
out by the Metropolitan Board of Works. Up to the
present time, no actual progress has been made with
the works, but it is reported they will shortly be put
in hand.
FORMATION OF NEW STREETS.
The Metropolitan Board of Works has consulted
the Vestry upon 21 applications for sanction
to the formation of 33 New Streets within this
