of £17 8s. to the Parish, 40 beds, 4 blankets, 14
sheets, 30 pillows, 39 mattrasses, 17 palliasses, 13
bolsters, 6 counterpanes, and 9 articles of wearing
apparel. Further, in addition to the cases sent by
the Guardians to the District Asylum Hospitals, 10
cases were sent by the Vestry to the Small Pox
Hospital at Highgate, at an expense to the Parish of
£49 10s. We have continued to supply disinfectants
free of cost to the poorer parishioners in all cases
where disinfectants appeared to be required, and have
habitually distributed Circulars, of which (since they
contain information and advice which may be
generally useful) I append a copy.
1 may add that in the year just elapsed, as in
previous years, we have derived much valuable
assistance from the medical practitioners, more especially
the parochial surgeons, and the officers of the
Board of Guardians; and that, considering the amount
of work they have been called upon to do, the landlords
of small property deserve some acknowledgment
on my part for the readiness with which, as a rule,
they have co-operated with us.
