Contractors, and the Vestry, I am enabled to give
the cost of Division E for the quarter ending
Michaelmas last, based upon the foregoing calculations,
as against the price which would have been
paid had the lowest Tender for this Division been
accepted :—
The estimate of Annual Cost, viz. ,£8,191, gives an average of £164 per
horse, including all appliances.
Comparison o
cost of workin
Division E. fo
the last three
months
Division E has average 12 horses, 12 x £164=£1,868 per annum
or £468 per quarter.
£468 per quarter. Deduct from this the amount earned by
these 12 horses during the quarter in Carting
Material, Road Rolling, &c., &c.

£257 Actual cost for Watering and Slopping
Had this work been executed under Contract at the lowest Tender, the
amount for the quarter ending Michaelmas would have been for
Watering and Slopping £297
Actual Cost 257

The result, therefore, is £40 in favour of the Vestry management on
the quarter's working, and the satisfactory method of its execution is beyond
dispute.
