been prepared from reliable data, and from a careful
collation of facts and experience, during the past
twelve months, they can no doubt, both in quantity
and cost, be sensibly reduced by careful and judicious
working out, aided by such care and attention to matters
of detail as this subject has already received from
the General Purposes and its Sub-Committee, during
the term which the experiment has been under trial;
but it will, I think, be found prudent at starting so
important a work not to undervalue its requirements
but rather to make full provision for effectually
carrying it out so as to ensure its success.
The estimate for Plant, &c., is as follows:—
The Mileage as given below is taken from the
roads at present under the Vestry control, and which
is continually increasing. The districts A. to F.
are, as at present, sub-divided, for the convenience of
inspection under the Contract system, but if this
entire work be undertaken by the Vestry, these
District Divisions will have to be considerably
modified.
