Vestry of St. Giles, Camberwell.
Annual Report received from Dr. Bernays, as Public Analyst,
under the "adulteration of foods" act, for the year
ending Lady Day, 1876.
Chemical Laboratory,
St. Thomas's Hospital Medical and Surgical College,
Midsummer, 1875.
To the Vestry of St. Giles, Camberwell,
Gentlemen,
I have again to present a Report exhibiting
some favourable features.
Milk has, as is usual, supplied the chief number
of analyses. Of twenty-six samples, four have been
adulterated with water, or say rather more than 15
per cent. Besides these, several have been slightly
adulterated, but only sufficiently to require further
samples to be taken at a more convenient season.
