BIRTHS AND BIRTH RATE.
The number of births registered during the year was 4998,
rate of 38.7; this is one and a half per thousand greater than that
of last year, and is, as usual, much higher than that of London.
which was 31.8 this year, or one per thousand higher than that of
the preceding year.
In the following table are compared the mortality rates for
London and for Bethnal Green, by Quarters:—
