July 4th, 1891.
To the Yestry of the Parish of St. Matthew, Bethnal Green:
Gentlemen,—
During the quarter ending June 24th, 1891, I have
received from your Inspector for Analysis, 15 samples of food.
These consisted of—milk, 9; butter, 2; pepper, 2; and mustard,
2 samples.
Not one of the samples proved to he adulterated.
It is very satisfactory to find so unusual a freedom from
adulteration. The number of samples submitted to me during
the past half-year has been much fewer than usual. So far, only
4 different articles have been analysed; it might be well in future
to take a larger variety, so that all the sources of food supply
might be looked into.
Appending a list of the articles analysed,
I remain
Your obedient Servant,
