RE-NAMING STREETS AND RE-NUMBERING
HOUSES.
The following Streets have been re-named:—
Edward Street, re-named Kerbela Street.
8wan 8treet, „ Cygnet 8treot.
York Street, ,, Jersey Street.
The Houses in the following streets have been renumbered:—
Coopers Gardens.
Cygnet Street
Jersey Street.
Knottisford Street.
Middle Walk.
Robert Street.
St. James's Road.
In all 236 houses have been re-numbered.
An order was received from the London County
Council for re-numbering the southern Portion of Mansford
Street. The Council in their order assigned one
number to each block of model dwellings, some of which
contain as many as twelve separate tenements. As this
system would cause great inconvenience, both to the
Postal Authorities and in the preparation of lists of
Voters, &c., the carrying out of the order is being
allowed to stand over, and efforts are being made to
induce the Council to withdraw the order and arrange
that the tenements may be separately numbered.
