I have prepared and now submit a set of spot maps. These shew
by means of black spots the exact locality of the houses where cases
of Infectious Fever and Diphtheria occurred.
The spots are arranged so as to indicate the number of cases in
each house:—
One case
Two cases
Three cases
Four cases
Large copies of the beautiful map, prepared a few years ago by
Mr. Barratt, the Surveyor, are hung in my office. Day by day, the
Inspectors when they return from visiting eases notified, indicate
upon the proper map the exact locality of the infected house, by
means of a black-headed pin. At the end of the year these pins
are removed and black sports are substituted.
The maps are then copied by photo-lithography and printed in
the ordinary manner. They are beautifully clear, and reflect great
credit upon Messrs. Waterlow, by whom they were produced.
