Gentlemen,
I have the honour to present my Annual Report on the
Vital Statistics and Sanitary Condition of the Parish of Saint
Matthew, Bethnal Green, during the year 1889.
POPULATION.
I estimate the population of the Parish at 131,000, an increase
of 500 over the year 1888. The area of Bethnal Green is 755½
acres, the number of inhabited houses is 18,454, a ratio of 7.1
persons to each house, and 173½ to each acre.
