Fifteen of the violent deaths were suicidal, twelve
being from hanging, and one each from poison and cut
throat.
Two were returned as homicide; one was a case of
criminal neglect of a child, aged five months, and the
other the wilful murder of a newly-born infant.
In twelve instances the cause of death was returned
in such an ill-defined manner as to render it impossible
to properly classify the disease.
