The cost of lighting St. John's Church clock for a year was found
to be £ 76 13s. 9d., and it was resolved that in future the lighting of
the clock be discontinued from the 1st April to the 1st September, and
that inquiries be made as 1o the possibility of having an apparatus
to light and extinguish the gas, and the cost of such apparatus.
Complaint was made that the Industrial Dwellings Company had
stopped an ancient thoroughfare from Three Colts-lane to Bethnal
Green-road. The complaint was referred to the Works Committee,
and after interviews by the Clerk and Surveyor with the Secretary and
Architect of the Company, the Company agreed not only to re-open
but also to improve the thoroughfare.
ROBERT VOSS,
Vestry Clerk.
