A marriage guidance clinic is held every week and this is run by the
Marriage Guidance Council. Appointments are made for clients to be seen by
a counsellor.
Family planning services are accommodated as follows:-
There are two general sessions weekly. In addition one weekly and one
fortnightly session are entirely devoted to the fitting of the Intra-Uterine

A domiciliary family planning service is also used by women in this
area and one cervical cytology clinic is held per week when about twelve
women are examined.
Twenty sessions per week are devoted to chiropody, the greatest number
in the Borough. An average of 160 people are attended to weekly. The
majority of these are geriatrics, some of whom arrive hy arranged transport.
10% are not old people, 5% are physically handicapped and 10% are school

There is a bathing centre and there are five sessions weekly. About
thirty old or handicapped persons are transported here to be bathed every
week. Staff also go out to houses, (an average of 85 per week) for this
purpose. Five sessions weekly are devoted to the cleansing of verminous

CHEST CLINICS
The decision of the North East Metropolitan Regional Hospital Board,
referred to in my last report, to integrate the Chest Clinics in Hackney and
Tower Hamlets into the London Chest Hospital was implemented during the
year.
The Chest Clinics remaining available to Hackney Residents are therefore
the London Chest Hospital and St. Anne's Hospital, Tottenham.
