DEATHS
Allowing for the decreased number of deaths in 1972, 2,795 as against
2,882 in 1971 the pattern of causes of death remained the same.
An analysis of the 85 deaths of infants under one year of age shows
that 70 were due to perinatal causes, birth injuries and congenital anomalies,
and that 15 were due to an infection. Details are set out overleaf:-
