During the year 36 notifications of accidents were received, all
were of a minor nature. In no instance was it found that the accident
resulted from a breach of the Act. 81 Notices were served upon occupiers
of premises who failed to comply with the requirements of the Act but in
only one instance was it necessary to institute legal proceedings and
fines totalling £40 with £5 costs were imposed. The Public Health
Inspectors made a total of 1,734 visits.
