SECTION 16 (Re gist rat ion of premises manufacture and sale of ice cream and
of sausages, etc.). This section provides that no premises shall be used for
the sale, or the manufacture for the purpose of sale, of ice cream or the
storage of ice cream intended for sale, or the preparation or manufacture of
sausages or potted pressed pickled or preserved food intended for sale unless
they are registered under this section for that purpose by the local authority.
ICE CREAM New applications to the number of thirteen for the sale of ice
cream were approved. At the end of the year the premises of 442 retailers
and nine manufacturers were registered. The 81 samples of ice cream submitted
to the Public Health Laboratory Service for Methylene Blue Test were reported
on as follows:-

PREPARATION OR MANUFACTURE OF SAUSAGES OR POTTED PRESSED PICKLED OR
PRESERVED FOOD INTENDED FOR SALE There were two new applications- one
for fish frying and the other for the preservation of meat ie. the cook
ing of chickens.
At the end of the year the following 158 premises were
registered
