Mr. James joined the staff as Senior District Inspector to take up
the post vacated when Mr. Apperley was transferred to the Welfare Section
of the Department.
As in previous years, the Department has had the benefit of the
co-operation of the Chief Officers and staff of the other Council departments,
and also assistance from the Divisional Medical Officer and staff of
Division 4 of the London County Council. We have also had assistance from
the general practitioners in the borough, and staffs of various hospitals
and voluntary organisations, and I would take this opportunity of thanking
them for this service.
Finally, I would wish to express on behalf of the Department, thanks to
the Chairman and Members of the Public Health Committee and Members of the
Council as a whole for their help and encouragement throughout the year.
I am. Mr, Mayor, Ladies and Gentlemen.
Your obedient Servant.
ROWLAND GWYN DAVIES
Medical Officer of Health,
