SMALLPOX, No case of this disease occurred
WHOOPING COUGH. The number of cases notified was 295 as compared with 220 in
1954 and 736 in 1953; there were no deaths.
PUBLIC HEALTH BACTERIOLOGY. All public health bacteriology for the Department
and for general medical practitioners in the borough was carried out by the
Public Health Laboratory Service at that Authority' s laboratory situate at
County HalL The service provided was again of the highest order.
