GENERAL PROVISION OF HEALTH SERVICES IN
THE AREA.
LABORATORY FACILITIES.
The arrangements made with the Camberwell Research
Laboratories and the Royal Institute of Public Health for
bacteriological examinations have been continued.
The following is a statement of the specimens submitted to the Laboratories for examination during the year:—

Wasserman Tests.—During the year 640 specimens were sent
from the Council's Ante-Natal Clinics to the L.C.C. Whitechapel
Clinic, Turner Street, E.l, for examination, of which 2 proved
anti-complementary and 24 insufficient serum for testing. In
each case repeat specimens were taken. The remaining 614 specimens
gave the following results:—
Positive to Wasserman and Kahn Tests 5
Positive to Gono. G.T. Tests 11
Negative 598
Total 614

Act, 1938, and submitted to the Public Analyst, D. T. Lucke, Esq.,
B.Sc., F.I.C., are given on page 45 of this report.
