Maternity Outfits.—One sterilised maternity outfit was issued
during the year at cost price.
Obstetric Consultants.—There was one case during the year in
which the services of an obstetric specialist were required in
connection with a case of puerperal pyrexia.
Emergency Obstetric Service.—The emergency obstetric unit
attached to Hackney Hospital was used in ten cases during the year.
Day Nurseries.—The Council's eight day nurseries, providing
accommodation for 415 children under the age of 5 years, continued
to function throughout the year. The total number of
attendances made by the children during the year was 91,620.
