CHILD LIFE PROTECTION.
At the end of 1938 there were in the Borough 141 persons who
had been registered under Part XIII of the Public Health (London)
Act, 1936. Eighty of these registered foster-mothers had 122
children in their care for reward.
There were seven instances in 1938 in which persons were
found to have taken charge of children for reward without giving
