for gassing and ventilation which is unique in this country. A
description and diagram of this apparatus is included in the Report.
I wish to express appreciation of the valuable work performed
by my staff throughout the year. Notwithstanding the additional
duties and responsibilities devolving upon the Department in connection
with civil defence, the normal Health Services of the
Borough have continued without interruption, even during the
September crisis. Without the loyal support of my staff, some
curtailment of the Department's activities must have resulted.
Finally, I desire to acknowledge the continued support of the
Chairmen and Members of the Public Health and Maternity and
Child Welfare Committees.
