Section 7 of the Births and Deaths Registration Act, 1926,
requires the registration of every still-born child. The number of
still-births registered in the Borough during the year was 100. Of
this total, 38 have been allocated by the Registrar-General to other
districts, whilst the births of 42 still-born children in outlying areas
have been transferred to Hackney. The corrected figure is, therefore,
104. This represents a rate for the Borough of 0.50 per 1,000
of the population, as compared with 0.54 for London as a whole.
