INFANT LIFE PROTECTION.
At the end of 1935 there were in the Borough 169 persons who
had been registered under Part I of the Children Act, 1908, as
amended by Part V of the Children and Young Persons Act, 1932.
Ninety-one of these registered foster mothers had 109 children in
their care for reward.
Six persons were cautioned during the year for failing to give
notice under the Acts of the reception of children for reward.
The following is a summary of the visits paid by the Infant Life Protection Visitor during the year:—

In addition to the visits mentioned above, 42 inspections were
made by the Sanitary Inspectors for the purpose of ascertaining
particulars of the occupation and sanitary condition of the homes
of foster mothers.
