Eleven of the fourteen deaths of unnotified persons which
occurred last year took place in hospitals and, of the remaining
three deaths, one was certified by the Coroner. Satisfactory
explanations were received in those cases in which it appeared that
a notification might have been submitted before death.
As shown in a foregoing table, the deaths from tuberculosis of Hackney residents registered during 1935 numbered 139. These deaths are classified as follows:—

This number of deaths gives an annual mortality of 0.66 per
1,000 inhabitants which is the lowest death-rate from tuberculosis
ever recorded in Hackney.
The deaths are distributed in the Sub-districts of the Borough as shown below:—
