MEAT AND OTHER FOODS.
London County Council (General Powers) Act, 1932.—This Act
requires the registration with the local authority of all premises
used for:—
(a) the sale, manufacture or storage of ice cream ;
(b) the preparation or manufacture of sausages or potted,
pressed, pickled or preserved meat, fish or other food
intended for sale.

The following table shows the additions to and deletions from the register of food premises during the year:—

There was one prosecution during the year in respect of the
manufacture of ice cream in a room where there was an opening
to a drain and failure to take precautions for the protection of the
commodity from contamination.
Public Health {Meat) Regulations, 1924.—These Regulations
require that notice shall be given to the Council by any person who
intends to slaughter any animal. Thus the Council's Food
Inspectors are enabled to be in attendance at the slaughtering of all
animals in the Borough and to examine the carcases.
Five hundred and sixty-three visits were made to slaughterhouses,
when the carcases of 4,449 sheep and lambs, 518 pigs,
42 calves, and .122 oxen were examined. The following were found
to be diseased and were destroyed :—
