INFANTILE MORTALITY.
During the year there were 3,515 births and 174 deaths of children
under the age of twelve months in Hackney. These figures
give an infantile mortality rate (deaths of infants under twelve
months of age in relation to each 1,000 births) of 49.
The following is a table of the infantile deaths and death rates in England and Wales, London and Hackney in 1930, together with the infantile death rates in five-year periods.
