Senile Mortality.—The deaths which occurred in Hackney at 65
years of age and upwards during 1929 numbered 1,371, and of these
660 were between the ages of 65 and 75 years, 549 between 75 and 85
years, and 162 at 85 years and upwards. The annual mortality rate
of persons at 65 years and upwards is 6.4 per 1,000 inhabitants.
Deaths in Public Institutions.—There were 2,012 deaths in public
institutions in the Borough during 1929; of these 763 were residents
of other districts, and the remaining 1,249 were residents of Hackney.
