Deaths.—The deaths registered in the Borough during 1929
numbered 3,302, but of these 771 were deaths of non-residents who
died inside the Borough. There were, however, 458 residents of
Hackney who died during the year outside the Borough. On making
the necessary corrections, the corrected number of deaths amongst
Hackney residents is 2,989. This is an increase of 438 upon the
number of deaths occurring during 1928. The general death-rate
from all causes for the year 1929 is 13.9 per 1,000 of the population.

Amongst the Registration Sub-districts the death-rate was lowest in the North Sub-district (12.5 per 1,000), the highest in the South-West Sub-district (14.8 per 1,000).
