Deaths.—The deaths registered in the Borough during 1923
numbered 2,561; but of these 554 were deaths of non-residents
who died inside the Borough. There were, however, 399 residents
of Hackney who died during the year outside the Borough. On
making the necessary corrections, the corrected number of deaths
amongst Hackney residents is 2,406. This is a decrease of 473
upon the number of deaths occurring during 1922. The general
death-rate from all causes for the year 1923 is 10.6 per 1,000 of
the population.

Amongst the Registration Sub-districts the death-rate was lowest in the North Sub-district (10.0 per 1,000), the highest in the South-west Sub-district (113 per 1,000).
