CONSTITUTIONAL DISEASES.

Cancer.— There were 289 deaths during 1921 due to the
different varieties of malignant disease. This is an increase of
43 on the number registered during 1920. The annual mortality
rate from malignant disease for last year is therefore T28 per
1,000 inhabitants.
The following table gives the distribution of the deaths from this disease in the different sub-districts of the Borough:—
