I have endeavoured in the following report to deal as far as
possible with the subjects above mentioned.
Population and Density.— Applying the rate of increase observed
during the last intercensal period to the population of Hackney, I
estimate the population of the Borough to number 223,022 at the
end of June, 1912. This estimate gives a density of population for
the whole Borough of 67.8 persons per acre, varying from 50 0
persons in the North Sub-District to 98.6 persons in the South-west
Sub-District per acre.
The following table shows the estimated population and
density of population per acre for each of the Registration SubDistricts
in the Borough:—

England and Wales, 1911, which supplies more detailed information
concerning the population of the Borough and their dwellings and
other buildings.
