Table 3. shows the number of deaths in each subdistrict
registered in each quarter of the year; the
deaths for the whole District in each quarter; and the
corrected numbers for each district for the whole year, as
well as the per centages of deaths and of the population.
By the corrected numbers, I mean the deaths which take
place in each sub-district, with a proper correction for
deaths in the East London Union, German Hospital, and
Union Workhouse. The total deaths registered in the
Hackney sub-district were 867. Of these, 149 deaths
occurred in the East London Union and German
Hospital, which, in accordance with the usual custom,
have been excluded from the totals. The deaths in the
Hackney Workhouse amounting to 81 are also in the
corrected numbers distributed amongst the sub-districts
in proportion to their population.
