CHARLTON.
REPORT OF THE MEDICAL OFFICER OF HEALTH
FOR 1894.
To the Board of Works for the Lee District.
Gentlemen,
I beg to present to you my Annual Report on the
sanitary condition of the Parish of Charlton for 1894, which I
am pleased to say is a satisfactory one.
It has been healthy throughout as regards serious illness
compared with many other years, and in spite of the very large
increase in the number of inhabited houses (which in 1893
equalled 93, and in 1894 equalled 49), the deaths have fallen
from 222 in 1893, to 19G in 1894, and this in both instances
include cases belonging to the Parish that died in out-lying
institutions, etc.
