Section 41.
Provides that every person who is in occupation of a
workshop at the commencement of this Act shall furnish
the Factory Inspector with a notice giving the name and
situation of the workshop, nature of the work, and other
particulars of a like nature; and further directs that any
notice so served shall be forthwith forwarded to the Sanitary
Authority of the district in which the workshop is situated;
the intention, no doubt, being to enable the Authority to
carry out the duties imposed upon it by the Act without
unnecessary delay.
Section 43.
By this Section failure to enter in the Begister particulars
as to white-washing is to be regarded as prima facie evidence
of the non-observance of the requirements of Section 77 of
the principal Act.
The Act will come into operation on January 1st, 1896.
It consists of 56 Sections, but, as stated at the outset of
this Beport, I have only thought it necessary to call attention
to those Sections which will require the supervision of
the Public Health Department, the work of which must
necessarily be much increased by the new enactment.

The following Bye-laws made by the Vestry and approved by
the Local Government Board complete the series necessary to
be made by the Vestry under
PUBLIC HEALTH (LONDON) ACT, 1891.
Bye-laws.
Made by the Vestry of the Parish of St. Luke, Middlesex, in the
Administrative County of London, being the Sanitary Authority
for the said Parish, with respect to Houses let in Lodgings, or
occupied by Members of more than one Family.
Interpretation of Terms.
1. In these bye-laws, unless the context otherwise requires, the
following words and expressions have the meaning hereinafter
respectively assigned to them ; that is to say—
" Sanitary Authority " means the Vestry of the Parish of St.
Luke, Middlesex, in the Administrative County of London.
