About one-third of the Lard, Dripping, Tallow and similar rendered Fats was
exported, the remainder being released under suitable guarantees for soap-making,
lubricating oils, &c.
PUBLIC HEALTH (IMPORTED FOOD) REGULATIONS, 1925.
During the year intimations were received from the Ministry of Health that
Official Certificate of the following countries had been recognised for the purpose of
the above Regulations :—
For Items (a) and (c) of the Second Schedule
Argentine Republic (amended Certificate).
For Item (b) of the Second Schedule :—
Uruguay.
NEW LEGISLATION.
Fertilisers and Feeding Stuffs Act, 1926.
27. The Act repeals the Fertilisers and Feeding Stuffs Act, 1906.
30. The Sanitary Authority of the Port of London for their district, and the
Common Council of the City of London for the City, shall exclusively perform and
exercise the duties and powers imposed and conferred in general by the Act on the
Councils of counties and county boroughs. Expenses shall be defrayed out of
th?. General Rate of the City of London.
Civil Liabilities.
1. The seller of either fertiliser or cattle and poultry food named in the
1st and 2nd Schedules must give a '' statutory statement'' in writing showing
the purchaser—
(a) the name of the article;
(b) scheduled particulars;
(c) the name of any 3rd Schedule ingredient contained.
(Examples, from 1st Schedule : Part I. (a) guano, (b) amounts of nitrogen, phosphoric
acid and potash respectively; Part II. (a) Dried sugar beet residue, (b) amounts of
sugar and fibre respectively.)
