1922. Overcrowding.
Sep. 25 " Sarah Ann " Registered Port of London, No. 480.
The canal boat " Sarah Ann," Registered Port of London, No. 480, owned by Emanuel
Smith, of Brentford, was inspected on the 25th September, 1922, when the after cabin was found
to be occupied by five persons in excess of the number for which it is registered.
Boat registered for 2 adults aft.
Boat registered for 2 adults forward.
Occupied by 1 man, 1 woman, 5 children aft.
The fore cabin was unfit for habitation.
Written notice was sent to the owner of the boat.
The boat has not been met with since in the Port of London.

Canal boat " Breydon " (unregistered) was inspected on the 3rd March, 1922, when the after
cabin was found to be occupied by a female over age, in contravention of the Canal Boat Regulations,
Section III.
(Since closing the Report, it has been ascertained that the " Breydon " has been registered
at Brentford, No. 407. Boat inspected in Port of London, 3rd January, 1923—infringement
remedied).
Canal boat " Coronation," Registered Uxbridge No. 341, was inspected on the 30th March,
1922. The after cabin was found to be occupied by a female over age in contravention of the
Regulations.
(Boat again inspected, 3rd October, 1922—infringement remedied).
These boats are owned by Emanuel Smith, of Brentford.
