Much of the fruit proved to be of commercial value for vinegar making or cattle
food, and it was accordingly released for those purposes, the Medical Officers of Health
of the districts in which it was to be used being notified of the facts.

FRUIT, PRESERVED (Jam and Marmalade).
One thousand six hundred and eighty-eight cases of jam and marmalade,
weighing 37 tons 10 cwts. 2 qrs. 21 lbs., were seized and destroyed.
