on the 28th February, and as a result of post-mortem examination, basic Cerebro-Spinal

ANTHRAX.
On the 4th June, I received information that H. T., aged 37, was admitted to the
London Hospital suffering from Anthrax. The patient was reported to be a waterside
labourer and was employed carting horses' hides. He is reported to have been last at
work on the s.s. "Cawdor Castle" in the East India Dock on the 2nd June.
I therefore made immediate enquiries and ascertained that no hides had been
discharged from this vessel in the Port of London. I received information that the
patient was discharged from hospital on the 21st June, having recovered from Anthrax.
COMPULSORY NOTIFICATION OF INFECTIOUS DISEASE.
Chicken-pox and Cerebro-Spinal Meningitis, commonly known as "Spotted Fever,"
were made notifiable diseases during the year 1914.
