Houses Let Out in Lodgings.
Your Sanitary Inspector, whom you appointed permanently to
inspect these houses, has regularly carried out this duty, and has
reported to me all sanitary defects coming under his notice.
Sale of Food and Dkugs Act.
Mr. Percy A. E. Richards, your Analyst, under this Act has
examined 51 samples of food, which by your directions have been
submitted to him. They were all, with one exception, found to be
genuine. The sample which was not up to the standard was
whiskey, but it was not sufficiently bad to warrant a prosecution.

The samples were as follows:—
