SEWER RAT CONTROL
The introduction some years ago of Warfarin bait for sewer maintenance
treatments resulted in an immediate reduction in the number of
manholes showing evidence of infestation. At the time of the treatment
in April, 1962, 13 manholes showed a take of bait. It was felt that a
change of poison and procedure might effect an improvement and in the
treatment carried out in November, fluoracetamide was used for the first
time. The result of this change is not normally assessed until at least three
treatments have been carried out and the result of a further test baiting
examined.
