Treatment for cases of Tuberculosis is the responsibility of the Regional
Hospital Board, who provide both sanatorium and dispensary treatment.
The Tuberculosis After-Care Committee continued its magnificent
work in the district during 1955. As in previous years, the major effort
of the Committee was directed towards alleviating the lot of tuberculous
patients and their families. Money grants, supplements of clothing and
nourishing foods, help with the debts and the multifarious difficulties of
necessitous families were given, and the work was greatly appreciated.
